Eating Pavilion for Eben-Ezer School
We have a dream for the new Eben-Ezer Primary School: to build an open-air eating pavilion where everyone will have a place at the table! The pavilion will provide a cool place to shelter the children from the sun or rain, a place to wash hands and sit to enjoy a meal together and water to drink.
We hope to build a structure that will hold 20 table and benches, large enough to feed 350-400 children daily in two lunch sessions. The estimated cost for the entire project, including the building and the tables and benches, is $35,000. That's a lot of dollars, but think of it this way: if each of the 350 children had someone who could give $100 for the shelter, it could be built right away!
Could you be one of the 350 who could give $100.00 this Giving Tuesday to supply a place at the table for a school child in Fort Liberte to have a place to eat lunch? If you can't give $100, your gift of any amount will be greatly appreciated. It will be a daily blessing to many children, one that will keep on blessing for years to come.
“And my God will supply all your needs according to his glorious riches in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:19
We believe that the best hope for change in Haiti is in education for children. The Jerusalem Baptist Church demonstrated a commitment to educaion back in the 1960’s when it founded the Eben-Ezer School. Starting with first grade and adding one class per year, the school began with 60 students. Now, hundreds of students from pre-school through secondary attend school at Eben-Ezer. The Friends of Fort Liberte supports the school in many ways.
